One very underrated pleasure is the absence of pain: I had a horrible sore throat, but just on one side, and trying to swallow (have you ever realised just how much you do swallow?) was painful. So I went off to work, the baser side of my personality hoping that it was infectious and I could share this with as many people as possible, and tried to work. And went home early. But the next day, I was apathetically having my breakfast when I realised that it didn't hurt. I could swallow without having to take it in stages. I felt like going to work (just as well, busy day). And I was able to work late.
